Traveling with Cats

Good Morning! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. We are in Ohio.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful. Yay. We left Fairfax at 6:15 am. It was 48 degrees!

Nice parting shot of the Mountain. Paid a lot for gas in Milton because we decided to take the Grand Isle ferry at the last minute.

(I cheated and put up a Lake Champlain photo from last summer!)

It takes forever to get out of New York! We only had traffic around Buffalo.
We ended our ride yesterday in Erie, PA. 540 miles.

The cats, Taigo and Sage traveled very well. We started the day by treating the car/cat carriers with Feliway.

Jordan's (our son) girlfriend, Ari, is a vet tech at Petit Brook Veterinary Clinic in Milton. She recommends this product for keeping cats calm on long trips. So far so good.

Yup we have a litter box in the car. Not used until we got settled in the hotel. (Good kitties!)
We let them run around the car during rest stops.

Of course I didn't realize that I left their dry kitty food at my mother's house until we got to the hotel.  So we fit in a trip to a couple of convienince stores in Erie before we found what we needed.

Sage loved the hotel bathroom! It came with her own private bunk.

Taigo was just happy to be able to sleep at the bottom of the bed.  They ate well, drank some water and enjoyed exploring!

Dan says it's been pretty easy to travel with them so far. Does the occasional meow, meow mean 'Are we there yet?'

Just went by the world headquarters of Duck tape!

Also just passed through Columbus, Ohio. Here are a few images from I90.

Who puts a hard left in the middle of the interstate?!!!

Dan says the Cleveland Indians play here.

That's it for the morning. About to change drivers.

Have a great day.  It's all about the journey!
