Destination Vail, Colorado

Pretty morning in Nebraska. Heading to Vail this morning to spend the afternoon and evening with our daughter, Erin.
Short trip today only 6 hours and we gain an hour as well! No wind today!
Got ready to leave this morning and no Sage! A quick search ensued. Only her tail was sticking out from where she had wedged herself at the front of the bed. Oh Sage!

Had to do a bit of online banking while Dan gassed up the car this morning. (Gas is creeping up ... $3.45/gal now.)
Our Discover card was Declined! Turns out the charge for shipping our home goods to Las Vegas came due and all the gas we have been charging put us a little to close to the limit. A few minutes on line and we are back in business.

We are able to track our worldly possessions as they make their to Las Vegas. So far they have been seen in Burlington VT; Hartford CT; Carlyle PA; and Albuquerque NM. Hope they get to Vegas eventually.

Have you ever noticed a group of black angus cows as you drive through farm country? If there are babies with the herd they are often in a little group by themselves with a couple of mamas watching over them while the rest of the cows do their own thing. I think it's fascinating! I keep trying but haven't yet succeeded in getting great photo evidence yet. But this is the best so far.

Nebraska surely is farm country. We stopped to get gas yesterday at a place called the Corn Crib. Here are a few photos!

Taigo and Sage were fascinated!

Dan had to go in the barn/restaurant to get a gas receipt. When he came out he said I had to go inside and get a photo.

It was a busy place!

Just witnessed a little crop duster action near Brule NB.

Dinner last night was amazing at a Mexican restaurant in North Platte.

Very colorful!

Fresh, hot and delicious! Not too pricy either.

We saw a few other interesting sights along the way yesterday. Here are just a few:

We just crossed into Colorado. I'll blog about that tomorrow.

If you missed the first two blogs I write about moving to Las Vegas you can find them by clicking on the links below.

Final photo for today's blog. My friend Ken who lives in Lincoln NB (like my friend Sue Pearl) told me to watch for the Nebraska sunset!

Here it is!

Have a great day! It's all about the journey! Love Nancy and Dan

  1. This is so nice of you to share, so many have not made this kind of trip. I've done it once in reverse from CA, Stuart has made several trips. Always makes us appreciate what we have all year around (even if the winter grows longer w/age)! We feel safe and thankful.
