Hikes, Walks and Yard Work

It's nice having a small yard for a change.  The yard looked pretty good when we bought our house but it needed refreshing. There was not much that wasn't covered with crushed stone and overgrown bushes. So we cleaned up the stone riverbed with edging pavers. Bought some large flat paving stones to create a patio area, purchased some rosebushes and a chiminea.

 Getting there.

Dan now has an area where he can catch some rays on his new zero gravity chair.

We probably won't ever have a fire in the Chiminea because we are so close to our neighbors. Someone in Las Vegas recently caught the neighbor's house on fire because they didn't put their fire out properly and the wind blew ashes over the wall!

Sage loves the Chiminea. As long as she is there early before it gets too hot.

Auntie and I went out for lunch at a cute little crepe shop.  The Crepe Station.  A new favorite. Awesome fresh strawberry filled crepes.  Delicious cappuccino.

Auntie cleaned her plate but was not a fan of Americano coffee.

To celebrate Leap Day we bought Michael Jackson One tickets.  What a great show.  Lots of cool lighting tricks as well as amazing Cirque de Soleil performers. No photography allowed during the performance so only a couple of shots of the theater.

They were taking everyone's photo when we entered the lobby.  Now I know why.  Some of the photos became part of the pre-show entertainment!

80's vs 90's at a Battle of the Bands.  Dan won tickets at the House of Blues.

The 80's band was great. The 90's band ... not so much. Maybe we just don't like 90's music.

I like these silhouettes that surround the second level of the House of Blues.

They do a yoga class in the meadow below a couple of times a week.  We were just practicing.

Glad I wasn't on that plane!

(Has anyone noticed the incredible shrinking Dan?  Las Vegas agrees with him. He has lost almost 100 pounds since we moved here. No more diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol! No snoring either. So proud of him!)

Anyone up for St. Patrick's Day down on Fremont Street.  We were there early before it got crazy!

Our daughter sent us this little snip-it the other day! I don't say much about politics but this made me snort. Scary at the same time.  I'll be glad when the election is all over.  I just want someone in charge of this country who has the best interests of the vast moderate middle in mind.

Dan is in Easter mode again.  Happy Easter to all.  Love from Summerlin!

It's all about the journey!
