The Sky is the Limit

A few images from Vermont:

Colorful pair!
Tufted Titmouse
My dad calls this little guy Rusty.

A little plowing was in order.
Heading back to Las Vegas.

A bit hard to see but I had to change planes at Reagan in DC.
I arrived home just in time for a locals' event at the Stratosphere.  Showed our Nevada licenses to get free tickets to the top of the highest building in Las Vegas.

Stratosphere Casino
We are fairly certain we would not go on either of these rides!

This one is called Big Shot!

Insanity! Yup!
We arrived at the top of the tower just before sunset.  Perfect timing.

Helicopters constantly fly over all parts of the city it seems.  This one is for hire. We also see police, rescue, medivac, and traffic choppers from local TV stations.

Great sunset over the Sheep Mountains.

Not quite sure why these little green spots were everywhere on the observation deck.

Trump building, The Rio, the Palms  and the Orleans
Looking south down Las Vegas Boulevard.

Saturday we took a quick walk around Hualapai Canyon.  I wanted to see what spring buds were making an appearance.

Beaver tail cactus (I think).
Agave
Close up of  agave buds.
No idea what this is!
After our walk we headed south to find Sandy Valley. We took I15 to Jean and the 161 toward Goodsprings. From there we followed the Sandy Valley Road for 15 twisting miles. We were almost to California again.

The most interesting thing about Sandy Valley is Sky Ranch Estates.  Here you will find a runway right in the middle of the community! Literally!  Instead of a garage each house no matter how large or small had a hanger!

Sky Ranch Runway
House and Hanger! I wonder how many planes they have?
Interesting signage.

His plane probably was built by the Wright Brothers. ; )
Sandstorm in Sandy Valley
The mountainsides off of the Sandy Valley Road were peppered with old mines.

You never know what you might see along the way!

Road art.
We also spied Joshua Trees in bloom.

A couple of more things we saw in the sky.

We might try to see this show soon.
The trees in our neighborhood have leaves again.
Update on Nan's family:  Mom is doing very well.  She is home and and doing physical therapy at Fairfax Family PT.  Dad is having trouble with his back and has begun PT as well. Jordan's knee seems to be on the mend. He saw one of the sports medicine doctors on Tilly Lane and the doc wants to see him again in 3 weeks but he is pretty sure all will be well. I miss them all but sure am glad to be away from the bitter cold weather!

Dan has work on Monday as those amazing politicians in Congress decided to fund Homeland Security for another week.  That was big of them!!!!

We are looking forward to another busy weekend as we have tickets to a Bull Riding event (Dan won MORE tickets) and tickets to the NASCAR race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (paid for those).

It's all about the journey.

Nancy and Dan
